DHAKA: Bangladesh were forced to make one change, due to Robiul Islam`s injury. Seamer Al-Amin Hossain made his debut in Robiul`s place, becoming the country`s 70th Test player.

New Zealand had included the left-arm fast bowler Neil Wagner in place of the left-arm spinner Bruce Martin.

Captain Brendan McCullum had talked about making the change, at the expense of a spinner. Given Martin`s poor showing in the first Test, he was the likely casualty. It was also the 50th Test for Ross Taylor.

Till filling the report, Tamim Iqbal and Marshal Ayub were on the crease with 17 and 7 run while the total score was 31 for one wicker in 5-over.

Anamul Haque returned to the pavilion scoring 7 runs.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first in the first innings of Second Test at Mirpur Shere Bangla National Stadium in the capital Monday.

Earlier, the first Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand ended in a draw in Chittagong.

Bangladesh scored 173 for 3 in 48.2 over in their second innings at at Jahur Ahmed Stadium in Chittagong.

Bangladesh, with eight defeats in their past 12 matches, are rooted at rock bottom in the international rankings below Zimbabwe, with New Zealand just one place above them in eighth place.

New Zealand batsman Peter Fulton said the pitch at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium could favour the spinners.
