Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has launched an upgraded version of its popular Atto 3 SUV in Bangladesh, reinforcing its push for greener mobility in the South Asian nation.

The launch event, held at BYD’s flagship showroom in Tejgaon, Dhaka, showcased a series of enhancements to the Atto 3, aimed at improving both performance and comfort.

Hafizur Rahman Khan, Chairman of CG Runner BD Ltd, was the chief guest, with senior officials including Imtiaz Nawsher, Chief Marketing Officer of BYD Bangladesh, and Fahmid Ferdous, Head of Sales, also in attendance.

Unveiled following an address by Shahnuma Sharmin, Strategy & Digital Manager of BYD Bangladesh, the upgraded model boasts a new Thaumas Black interior with ventilated front seats, redesigned sportier exterior styling, bold 18-inch rim design, and black-housed headlights.

Under the hood, the Atto 3 continues to run on BYD’s industry-leading Lithium Iron Phosphate Blade Battery and e-Platform 3.0, which together enhance safety, performance, and smart driving capabilities. The battery supports DC fast charging, reaching 80% charge from 30% in just 30 minutes. The model is also equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), up to seven airbags, and carries a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Two variants of the new Atto 3 are now available. The Standard Range, priced at BDT 49.90 lakh, offers a full-charge range of up to 345 kilometres. The Extended Range, priced at BDT 55.90 lakh, extends that to 420 kilometres. Both versions include an upgraded 12V low-voltage LFP battery.

As part of its customer assurance, BYD Bangladesh is offering generous warranties: 8 years or 160,000 km for the traction battery, 8 years or 150,000 km for the motor and controller, and 6 years or 150,000 km for the vehicle itself.

“Bangladesh is ready for the EV revolution,” said Imtiaz Nawsher, CMO of BYD Bangladesh. “We are actively working with stakeholders to expand the charging network across the country. Making charging more accessible is essential for wider EV adoption.”

The launch event featured live demonstrations and interactive sessions with BYD engineers, giving guests a hands-on look at the vehicle’s new features. To promote wider public engagement, BYD Bangladesh will host an ‘Atto 3 Week’ from September 21 to 25, inviting potential buyers to test and experience the upgraded EV.

The company, a global leader in New Energy Vehicles, is betting on Bangladesh’s nascent but growing electric vehicle market as part of its wider international expansion strategy.
