Airtel network fiasco

DHAKA: I have been using Airtel mobile phone from 2007 as residing in Mugdapara area of the capital. 

But for the last two years I have been facing untold sufferings due to poor network in the area. The operator’s network frequency has deteriorated much rather any improvement in these days of competitive mobile market.

At present no subscriber of Airtel operator (formerly WARID) is getting desired services of cell phone owing to poor network.

We are in such problems that at the moment we cannot change the SIM number because meanwhile everybody including relatives, office colleagues and others of home and abroad are known to this number. 

I complained the matter to the customer care services of Airtel thousand times who wanted only 24 hours to get it alright but that specified time did not end in one year time keeping me in hazardous network problem.

I visited the customer care center of Airtel located at Dainik Bangla crossing and gathered peculiar experiences and assurances in different ways but no result. Even at their advice I replaced my hand set by procuring costly Samsung brand but I am still suffering. They always give me assurance like a parrot ‘It will be fixed within 24 hours’.

Now I like to narrate few experiences of March 20 and April 27 of this year. On both days I met with the customer care personnel who in the same language assured me of good service. I informed that I cannot talk with any body due to the problem better knows by them. Either the sound becomes echoed or the call does not sustain rather cut off during on going conversation. One occasion they even blamed my newly procured Samsung hand set.

I met smart looking male and female care service provider during this time but of no result. Every time whenever I go to them I have to start afresh as if they don’t heard or know the problem.

Now I am passing through miserable days for my cell phone of Airtel operator company who took over the company from Warid in an unholy deal evading huge government taxes was published in several news papers of that time.

At the moment my father has become a patient of brain tumor taking treatment at Lab Aid hospital but I am facing problems to take his care as well as I can’t give his sick news to my relatives by my phone due to the network problem.

During this hazardous time I have also some more disturbing experiences. One day at the Baitul Mokkarram area when I was coming out of customer care office just before prayer time I received a call from number + 88024643 which I took as a foreign call. But to my surprise when I pressed the receive button I heard Bollywood block buster film’s “ Yeh Jawani hai Yeh Deewani”s ‘Betamiz dil , Betamiz dil Mane na, Mane na’ song lipped by Ranabir Kapoor and Deepika Padukon. But I could not enjoy the enchanting music as the horror experience of Airtel as well as the attraction of my prayer.

During my suffering time many Shafiullah and Nazimuddin of Airtel for getting services but none ensured service till now. 

The Airtel gives ‘agricultural news’ through SMS at dead of night when we are in deep sleep. This is Airtel service!

The operator is taking away millions of money from the customers annually in exchange of this kind of services of fiasco. Government should look into the matter in a serious manner so that the operator can deceive the people no longer. 

Government should issue warning in such a stringent language that if they want to do business here then they must ensure service. Often I fail to understand that why the government is silent about them.
