DHAKA: OPPO’s tale is very different. This is a tale of a mobile phone. Not one, this is a tale of eight different types of mobile phone sets and of course those are different from each other. They are different in features, users’ satisfaction level and mode of presentations. OPPO has developed a strong team to make that tale a truth. An OPPO is already very much present in Bangladesh.

While asked, why OPPO, what does it mean? Navy YI, Managing Director of OPPO in Dhaka Office, just smiled and said it has no meaning, but it means everything, that is opportunity. 


Yes opportunity is there! OPPO is already a globally registered technology brand, with a long history of serving customers in North America, Europe and Asia, delivering products that receive high ratings from experts around the world.

What’s the potential in Bangladesh? Banglanews tabled a question.

Bangladesh is a big mobile-phone market. Over 60 percent of its population use of mobile phone and most of them are looking for using the beautiful and user friendly phone set and obviously a smart phone. That is why we are here; a prompt answer came from Michael, who is serving as brand manager of the product in Dhaka.

Since entering the mobile market in 2008, “We have been restless in our pursuit of the latest technology, the highest quality and the most user friendly products,” said Michael.

The well furnished office at Niketon in Dhaka was convincing. More convincing was the conversation with the OPPO team.

Michael said, “We have already built-up over a hundred member team of marketing, technical and servicing and it is growing fast here.”

We are passionate about exploring the latest that technology has to offer, said Navy Yi.

Michael along with Sadman Tanvir, a local recruit as online brand executive, was showing the specialties of OPPO sets. Specially, the rotating camera system, sound quality, video quality, rapid charges are our selling features, said the duo.

In the days of selfie craze, rotating camera is a high demand and OPPO offers it. Any OPPO set can be charged 75 percent of its battery in 30 minutes and a five minute charge can make your phone ready for next two hours. 

OPPO uses only highest quality components available on the market. Alliances with the leading international partners ensure that they have the latest and best hardware available, Michael added.

OPPO products include 6.65mm `OPPO Finder’ released in mid-2012 and then it was the world's thinnest smartphone. Towards the end of 2012, OPPO announced one of the world's most anticipated smartphones, the OPPO Find 5, featuring a 5 inch 1080p display and a 13 megapixel stacked CMOS sensor. And as they claim, it was the world's first smartphone with hardware supported HDR.
  
With a uniquely independent R&D capacity, we design, develop, manufacture, market, and sell our products ourselves, said brand manager Michael.

For our smartphones, we have adopted rapid release cycles, releasing a weekly firmware update based on customer feedback, he said.

OPPO has already opened up its showrooms at Bashundhara City Complex and Eastern Plaza. The unique sets are available in the range of Tk 10,000 to Tk 50,000.
