DHAKA: Security measures are usually taken in all the offices at their level best. They keep their computers as password protected. But still, information is being leaked from different government offices, forces’ headquarters, telecom companies, banks, power offices, media and religion-based parties.

Bangladesh, along with 30 more countries, is in the list, from which the information is being disclosed through a Para-Normal way.

But, how?

Russia-based computer security program provider Kaspersky in its Monday report suspected that the way hackers are collecting information might be ‘setting up software in the hard disks’.

Terming as ‘Equation Group’ the company briefed that the Equation group is a highly sophisticated threat actor that has been engaged in multiple CNE (computer network exploitation) operations dating back to 2001, and perhaps as early as 1996.

According to the report, the Equation group uses multiple malware platforms, some of which surpass the well-known “Regin” threat in complexity and sophistication.

It is probably one of the most sophisticated cyber attack groups in the world, and they are the most advanced threat actor, the report added.

However, the company thinks that it might be a trick of the US experts.

Kaspersky said that the presence of the software was detected in different brands of hard disk drives including Samsung, Toshiba, and Seagate.

The company, moreover, alleged that the project has been going on since 2001.

They advised the respective companies of the countries to check and enhance their security systems before further dealing with Information and Technology (IT).
