DHAKA: Microsoft has started registering candidate for Imagine Cup Bangladesh 2015, premier competition for student technologists, developers and aspiring entrepreneurs.
However, this year’s competition (fifth time in Bangladesh) will lead the winners to compete in 13th international round in three different categories -- Games, Innovation and World Citizenship – at Seattle of Washington in USA apart from visiting Microsoft’s office and meeting Bill Gates along with getting $50,000 while all the travel and accommodation expense will be provided by the technology giant.

However, the registration time will end at 11:59pm of March 15 while competitors will have to submit their project summery by April 1, selection round between April 3 and 11, and the grand finale will be held on April 11.
Nevertheless, over the past 12 years the Imagine Cup has empowered more than 1.7 million students worldwide to do more and achieve more through technology.
Rules for Imagine Cup Bangladesh 2015
Similar to previous years, the rules for Imagine Cup Bangladesh 2015 provided by the organization are as following:
Your solution must be built on .NET Framework. Minor parts of the solution may use non-.NET components. If you are using such components make clear in the Project Summary document (you will be communicated about this – check email often right after March 15) and describe how you are using it. What is minor/major usage of non-.NET components are solely decided by Microsoft Bangladesh.
Usage of open source projects are allowed if the respective licenses permits. Major value delivery should be done by your code not by the open source projects, which is again to be determined by Microsoft Bangladesh. For example, we generally discourage to enter with a Mono project.
Be always ready to open Visual Studio and show your code to us at any stage mentioned above during primary selection round.
Be mindful of the hardware-centric solution. Please refrain from planning to showcase your work to us using emulator except for Windows & Windows Phone apps. If your solution has hardware interfacing, you have to demonstrate to us including the necessary hardware setup previously readied.
World Citizenship, Innovation and Games, respective category’s rules and judging criteria applied.
Winning the national finals does not mean advancement to the world finals. There will be another round of worldwide online semi-final to decide world finalists after the national finals. Therefore, only world finalists will make it to the final competition in Seattle.
The competition is governed solely by Microsoft Bangladesh and they reserve the rights to take necessary steps accordingly case by case basis which are not directly covered by rules documents. Other rules will be governed by Imagine Cup global rules and scoring criteria, etc. (refer to References).
