South Asian Tech Summit kicks off

DHAKA: With the tagline of Driving ICT Innovations and Security, the first ever south Asian regional Tech Summit started at a city hotel on Friday.

CTO Forum Bangladesh and Ananda Bazar Patrika (ABP) technology concern Infocom of India and organized the cross border technology summit.

There are over 100 technical personals attended the two day long summit from SAARC countries including India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka and host Bangladesh this year, said a press release.

Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran attended the inauguration program of the regional summit as chief guest.

Pankaj Saran said “New Delhi always supports Dhaka in the technology driven programmed here. To achieve the goal of digital vision, the authority should have focused on literacy program first to increase digital device penetration here.”

Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nazneen Sultana said “we are introducing innovative technology in banking sector every day. The mobile banking service helps us to reach banking to the Mersin.”

The ICT experts focused on contributions of technology in different sectors specially communication and information management to ensure strategy of security system.        

Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan, CTO Forum Bangladesh President Tapan Kanti Sarkar, ABP ICT department Vice President Kali Krisna Mahapatra spoke at the event among others.

The summated is attended by top executives of technology companies as well as technology related personals of different public and private agencies.
