DHAKA: The first ever South Asian regional Tech Summit, with the tagline of Driving ICT Innovations and Security, ended on Saturday promising to lead the future world with ICT based young forces.
CTO Forum Bangladesh and Ananda Bazar Patrika (ABP) technology concern INFOCOM of India organized the two-day long cross border technology summit.
The experts at the summit focused on continuous knowledge sharing among south Asian countries for introducing technology for betterment of backward communities in this region.
Over 100 technology related top executives of public and private agencies from India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri-Lanka and host Bangladesh attended the summit this year.
There were held three different sessions on Leveraging ICT for value creation, Cyber security and Technology innovations.
The closing day morning started with the seminar on Leveraging ICT. The speakers discussed on enrolment of technology to develop the socio economic status of the region.
Nepal Investment Bank Deputy General Manager Bijendra Soyal, ICT Info tech India Vice President Partha Sen Gupta, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Deputy General Manager Ajit Wijoy Sundara, Gudrick IT Head Shuvashis Ghosh, NCC Bank Vice Chairman ASM Maynuddin Momen, PMO A2i programme local development specialist Suparna Roy and DMS Technology Bangladesh General Manager Saiful Islam attended the panel discussion on technology in socio economic growth.
The session on Cyber security started with the presentation of Ernest and Young Partner Burgess Cooper, Cisco India System Engine department Vice President Kaushik Nath, SREI IT and Security department Vice President Sommak Somy, Trend Micro Technology Sales department Director Shoshy Bhalba and A2i programme Technology Specialist Arfi Elahi Manik.
The speakers focused on the importance of cyber security toward the cloud computing based future.
The closing seminar was on developing generation for adaptation with the innovation of technology in future. Education Secretary Mohammad Nazrul Islam Khan, Daffodil International University Computer Science department Chairman Professor Syed Ahkter Hossein and PMO Consultant Muhammad Mizanur Rahman attended the discussion.
The technology summit started on Friday afternoon and closed Saturday night with different bi-national meeting among top executives of the south Asian countries.
There were some 5 technology related personals were awarded for their contribution in information technology. The ICT Excellence Award- 2015 giving ceremony held at Dhanmondi Club in the capital on Saturday night.
Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Pankaj Saran, DIU Vice Chancellor Professor Lutfar Rahman and Education Secretary Nazarul Islam Khan attended the closing ceremony of the summit.
Ananda Bazar Patrika (ABP) ICT Vice President and Info Com Organizing secretary Kali Krisna Mahapatra, CTO Forum Bangladesh President Tapan Kanti Sarkar and Earnest and Young Partner Haris Aragwaol also were, among others, present at the ceremony.
