Bangladesh, Thailand sign Framework accord

DHAKA: Information and Communication division of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand signed a Framework accord on Wednesday evening with the view to work jointly in the sectors of e-governance, cyber security and IT development.

The accord was signed following a bilateral meeting between Bangladesh’s state minister for ICT division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Thai Deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Juntong in Thailand.

ICT division’s public relations officer M Abu Nasher confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Thanking the Thai government, Palak sought its help in bilateral issues and in making Digital Bangladesh.

In response, the Thai deputy prime minister lauded the Bangladesh government’s initiatives and assured him of all types of help.

Palak also held separate meetings with Sri Lanka’s science, technology and research minister Susil Premajayantha, Vietnam’s ICT minister Rodolfo Salalima and UN ESCAP Executive Secretary Shamshad Akhtar.

On October 3, Palak left Dhaka for Thailand to attend the first meeting of Asia-Pacific Regional Internet and Development Dialogue and UN ESCAP Committee on ICT, Science, Technology and Innovation.

He is expected to return home on October 6.
