DHAKA: ICT Affairs Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sajeeb Wazed Joy launched the state website designed for verifying National Identity (NID) Cards in easiest and quick ways.

He opened the portal 'www.porichoy.gov.bd’ at a ceremony held at ICT Tower in Agargaon here Wednesday (July 17).  

ICT Division Secretary NM Ziaul Alam, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Hosne Ara Begum, a2i Policy Adviser Anir Chowdhury and other officials of ICT Division participated in the program chaired by ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak.  

"We want to deliver state services to people in easy and fastest ways. And aiming that, we are working restlessly. We target 90 percent of state services will available in people's mobile phones, just close to the finger," Sajeeb Wazed Joy, as the chief guest, told attendees.

"I hope people don't need to go to government offices to avail the government services," he added.  

Palak said the government has been digitalizing various public services under leadership of the premier's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

"Porichoy is such a breakthrough service. We were working for long for Porichoy under his leadership," he added.

However, 'Porichoy' portal is a gateway server linked to the database of Election Commission (EC). The application programming is dedicated to scrutinize NIDs of any state or private organizations' personnel.  

The gateway will prevent faking IDs and ensure safety and privacy. It will accelerate the tasks where registration with NIDs is required.
