MasterCard Opens Office in Dhaka

DHAKA: MasrerCard, a technology company in global payment industry announced the office of local representative in Dhaka Wednesday. It’s the first in the industry to inaugurate an office in Bangladesh. MasterCard Marked the occasion with an opening ceremony which graced by Dr. Atiur Rahman, Governor, Bangladesh Bank, central bank of Bangladesh.
 
Nurul Amin, Chairman, Association of Bankers Bangladesh (ABB), Ron Garrow, Chief Human Resources Officer and Member of Executive Committee of MasterCard, Ari Sarker, divisional President, South Asia, Vikas Varma, Area Head, South Asia, Country Manager Syed Mohammad Kamal and representative from Banks and Financial institutions also present the ceremony.

Speking the event Atiur Said, we welcome the opening of MasterCard office in Dhaka. Its offering services on Bangladesh from 1997. We look forward to having MasterCard work even more closely with the local partners.

 Ari Sarker said, one of the MasterCard key priorities in Bangladesh is financial inclusive-the delivery of financial services those who are unbaked and underbanked. Bangladesh market is potential We want market leader. We are here in long term vision, not short term.
 
Using technology MasterCard provide services from 1966. Now we are in 210 countries and being transaction more than 150 currencies. I am proud to say, in every hour more than 1.6 million transaction made by us. Around 22 thousand institutions are partners of MasterCard, said Ron Garrow.
 
12 Banks and Financial Institutions from Bangladesh who are partners of MasterCard awarded in the ceremony.
