Jewellers hiked gold prices by Tk 2,222 per bhori on Thursday (August 24) which set a new record, with each bhori now priced at Tk 1, 01,244 in Bangladesh.
The new price will be effective from Friday (August 25), said a press release of Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) today.
Earlier on August 17, the gold price in the local market was reduced by Tk 1,751 to record Tk 99,027 per bhori.
The price of gold 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,222 to Tk 1,01,244.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 82,814 a bhori while that of traditional gold at Tk 69,051 a bhori.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk 1,715 a bhori while 21-carat Tk 1,633 and the price of 18-carat silver is Tk 1,400 a bhori and Tk 1,050 for traditional one.
