The gold price in the local market has jumped by Tk 1,167 to record Tk 1,00,544 per bhori.

Standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting held on Sunday (October 15).

The new price has been set in view of the rise in gold price in the local market, the BAJUS said in a statement today.

The new prices will be effective from Monday (October 16), BAJUS said.

The gold price in the local market was jumped by Tk 2,333 to record Tk 99,377 per bhori on October 12. 

Earlier on September 30, BAJUS announced a reduction in gold prices by Tk1,749 per bhori.

The price of gold, the precious metal used mainly for ornaments, has been fluctuating for over a year.
