Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk 2,216 to a record high of Tk 1,12,907 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a hike in the price of the precious metal on the international market.
The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) on today adjusted the gold price, attributing the increase in the global market.
The standing committee on pricing and price monitoring of BAJUS made the decision at a meeting.
According to the new prices, the price of a 21-carat gold bar has increased by Tk1,07,775 and 18-carat gold would cost Tk92,379.
Earlier on January 17, BAJUS raised the price of gold by Tk 1,400 to Tk 1,12, 441 per bhori.
However, the price of gold reduced by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,10,691 per bhori (11.664 grams), a day after the announcement of a price hike for precious metals.
