The price of a litre of bottled soybean oil has been increased by Tk4, while the price of loose oil has been decreased by Tk2 per litre.
The new prices would come into effect on Friday (April 19).
State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu made the disclosure on Thursday after a meeting held between the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission and the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association at the secretariat.
Speaking to the reporters, Titu said the price of a litre of bottled soybean oil has been set at Tk167, which was Tk163 earlier.
But, the price of loose soybean oil has been reduced to Tk147 per litre, he added.
On Monday, in a letter to the commerce ministry, the refiners proposed to increase the price of a litre of bottled soybean oil by Tk10 to Tk173.
