Bay Group Chairman Alhaj Shamsur Rahman has passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore.

An eminent industrialist of the country, Shamsur Rahman who hails from Shariatpur district, breathed his last at 9 pm on Monday (May 13), confirmed his family members.

He is the founder and chairman of Bay Group. A hardworking and charismatic individual, Rahman started his career in Bangladesh Civil Service in 1973. 

And after early retirement from the Civil Service, Rahman started his venture with Bay Tanneries Ltd in 1977.

Since then, his relentless efforts grew the Bay Group. He was former Vice President of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries.

Alse he served as an advisor of Bangladesh finished leather, leather goods & footwear exporters association.
