The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Saturday (May 18) increased the price of gold by Tk1,178 per bhori as the cost of pure gold rose on the local market.
According to a BAJUS statement, 22-carat gold will now cost Tk 1,18,460 per bhori.
As per the latest decision, the price of 22-carat gold is Tk 10,156 per gram while it is Tk 9,695 for 21-carat of gold, read a press release signed by committee Chairman Masudur Rahman.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 8,309 a gram while that of traditional gold at Tk 6,870 a gram. New tariffs came into effect on Sunday, the release added.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram while 21-carat Tk172 and the price of 18-carat silver is Tk147 per gram and Tk110 for traditional ones.
