The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS), under World Bank’s “Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) Project”, is set to arrange a training programme aimed at enhancing technical skills of jewellers.
The World Bank will finance the training programme of the Directorate of Technical Education under World Bank’s ASSET project, as stated in a press release.
BAJUS General Secretary Badal Chandra Roy and ASSET Project Director Abu Momtaz Saaduddin Ahmed signed an agreement on behalf of their respective sides on Thursday.
BAJUS Vice-Presidents Gulzar Ahmed, Md Reponul Hasan and Masudur Rahman, Adviser Ruhul Amin Rasel, Treasurer Uttam Banik and BAJUS Executive Committee Member Anwar Hossain were present on the occasion.
Under this project, 300 people associated with the jewellery industry will be trained initially through BAJUS Institute. This training will increase the standard of technical skills in the jewellery industry.
The three-month training includes jewellery manufacturing, design, CAD operations, and sales and marketing along with skill development training courses.
