The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS), has raised the price of 22 carat gold by Tk 2,613 to Tk 1,40,061 per bhori, the highest rise in the country's history till today (October 19).
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of BAJUS made the decision at a meeting on Saturday.
The new price will be effective tomorrow (October 20).
The price of 21-carat gold will cost Tk 133,704, and each bhori of 18-carat gold will cost Tk 114,598.
Earlier on September 28, Jewellers lowered the price of gold by Tk1,260 to Tk1,37,448 per bhori (11.664 grams) in the local market amid a tariff drop on ‘pure gold’.
