Bourses see fall Thursday

DHAKA:  Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 20 points only to stand at 4,555 at the close on the last trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 81092 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,481 million.

Of the issues traded, 109 advanced, 145 declined and 32 remained unchanged.

GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 243 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were MPETROLEUM, BSCCL, MATINSPINN, LAFSURCEML, SQURPHARMA, PADMAOIL, EMERALDOIL, HEIDELBCEM and GOLDENSON.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,763 by dropping over 43 points.

Out of the issues traded, 159 gained, 125 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
