DHAKA: Finance Minster AMA Muhith on Saturday categorically said there would be no more opportunity for whitening black money though one can avail chances to legalize unexposed money giving fines.

The finance minister came up with the assertion while speaking at a pre-budget view exchange meeting with the Economics Reporters’ Forum at the secretariat in the city.

At the discussion, President of the organization Sultan Mahmud Badal urged the minster to take punitive measures to prevent money siphoning off to outside of the country.

He said, “We have resources, but somehow money has been being laundered abroad in recent years; something should be done as the money is invested in the country not abroad.”

ERF General Secretary Sazzadur Rahman, Finance Secretary Fazle Kabir, National Board of Revenue Chairman Golam Rahman, Planning Ministry Secretary Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam and Implementation and Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) additional secretary Suraiya Begum were among others present at the meeting.
