Banglalink 3G in Rangpur

DHAKA: Banglalink, the country’s 2nd largest mobile telecom operator commercially launched 3G services in Rangpur Sunday by a jovial rally in the presence of massive crowd of all ages starting from Rangpur Zilla School. 

The rally started by flying off balloons and consisted of 3G branded caravans, horse carts, paddle vans etc., along with the playing of popular Banglalink jingles which created hype in the city and grabbed mass attention. 

The company started its 3G journey commercially from October, 2013. Within a short time, Banglalink has commercially launched 3G in the important areas of Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Narayanganj, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Tangail, Barisal and Bogra.

Md. Shorfuddin Ahmed, Mayor, Rangpur City Corporation was present in the programme as the chief guest and Md. Humaun Kabir, Additional DIG, Rangpur was present as the special guest. 

Present at the event from Banglalink were Ahmed Shamsul Huda, Regional Sales Manager; Md. Musfiq Us Salahin, Regional Sales Manager; Iftekhar Azam Shafin, PR & Communication associate Manager and other high officials of Banglalink.

This commercial launch of 3G service will lead Rangpur into a new technological era with the corporate slogan ‘Banglalink 3G for all’, which will enable customers to experience unique services that rely on high speed data connectivity. 

A Banglalink subscriber availing the 3G services can also enjoy video calling as well. Banglalink is the first operator to offer its customers with 3G enabled contents such as local radio apps, audio streaming and video streaming services, along with some useful mobile portals.

Ahmed Shamsul Huda, Regional Sales Manager, Banglalink said, “Banglalink has always been at the forefront of telecommunication technology in Bangladesh. To render a better service, we are launching 3G in Rangpur reiterating our commitment to customers". 

Banglalink is the 2nd largest mobile telecom operator in Bangladesh with over 29 million subscribers, and a subsidiary of Netherlands based Vimpelcom Ltd.
