Stocks end lower Monday

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Monday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over one point only to stand at 4,497 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 83,134 with volume of transactions at Tk 3941 million.

Of the issues traded, 159 advanced, 96 declined and 31 remained unchanged.

GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 170 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were MATINSPINN, LANKABAFIN, MBL1STMF, SQURPHARMA, MPETROLEUM, CVOPRL, LAFSURCEML, BSCCL and EMERALDOIL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,650 by dropping over 29 points.

Out of the issues traded, 76 gained, 114 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
