Stocks end lower Wednesday

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 39 points only to stand at 4,457 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 94,340 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,776 million.

Of the issues traded, 104 advanced, 160 declined and 24 remained unchanged.

HWAWELLTEX topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 298 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were GP, BSCCL, SQURPHARMA, MATINSPINN, GOLDENSON, LAFSURCEML, MPETROLEUM, EMERALDOIL and ACTIVEFINE.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,602 by dropping over 48 points.

Out of the issues traded, 22 gained, 86 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
