Stocks end higher Wednesday

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked gain in its price indices on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, rose over 47 points only to stand at 4,410 at the close on the fourth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 66,582 with volume of transactions at Tk 2,713 million.

Of the issues traded, 201 advanced, 53 declined and 34 remained unchanged.

SQURPHARMA topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 199 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, MPETROLEUM, HWAWELLTEX, BSRMSTEEL, GP, ACTIVEFINE, HEIDELBCEM, EHL and MATINSPINN.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8472 by gaining over 70 points.

Out of the issues traded, 141 gained, 40 declined and 31 remained unchanged.
