DHAKA: The gala award ceremony of 14th PRAN National Pickle Competition-2013 arranged at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital on Thursday, said a press release.
Afrina Rahman from Dhaka won Tk 200,000 as her pickle was awarded as ‘Pickle of the year’. Meanwhile, a total of 12 women in four categories Sweet, Sour, Hot and Mixed, wins awards while another 35 participants awarded with consecutive prizes.
Momena Khatun from Cumilla, Shamsun Nahar from Jessore and Shirin Banu from Dhaka won 1st 2nd and 3rd prize in ‘Sour’ category.
Tawsia Tasnim from Dhaka, Deyzi Rahman from Jessore and Shana Yasmin from Dhaka won 1st 2nd and 3rd prize in ‘Sweet’ category.
Jobeda Karim from Chittagong, Romana Akhter from Dhaka and Nishat Sultana from Jessore won 1st 2nd and 3rd prize in ‘Hot’ category. Nishat Hasem from Chittagong, Ruksana Pervin and Nasrin Huda from Dhaka won 1st 2nd and 3rd prize in ‘Mixed’ category.
The 1st prize winner got a couple of air ticket of Dhaka-Malaysia-Dhaka, 2nd prize winner got Laptop computer & 3rd prize winner got IPS in each category.
Eminent singer Sabina Yasmin handed over the awards when Faridur Reza Sagar Managing Director Channel i, Uzma Chowdhury Director of Corporate Finance of PRAN-RFL Group and High Officials were present.
This year two thousand five hundred thirty two women participated with 6394 pickle prepared by them. Colorful cultural function arranged followed by award giving ceremony where Elita, Mahadi, Munni and Munmun Ahmed performed.
