PDB signs agreements for 100MW quick rental power

DHAKA: The Power Development Board (PDB) signed agreements with two more companies on Thursday which will generate 100MW power under quick rental system.

One of the plants will be set up at Pagla of Narayanganj to generate 50MW power by diesel while the other 50MW at Amnora of Chapainawabganj district with furnace oil.
 
The Chapainawabganj plant will be set up by Sinha Power Ltd and the Pagla plant by DPA Power Generation International Ltd. DPA is an umbrella company of Germany-based Agritech AG, Primodial Energy limited and Bangladesh Diesel Plant.

PDB Secretary Azizul Islam and Chairman of Primodial Energy Limited signed agreement for the Pagla Plant while Jahad Thakur and Executive Director of Sinha Engineers Md. Mamum Haidar signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Secretary of the Power ministry Abul Kalam Azad and PDB Chairman SM Alamgir Kabir were present at the signing ceremony.
 
PDB Secretary Azizul Islam said the plants will start generation on time and they will be monitoring so that the production starts quickly.

He said the Pagla plant will start generation within next four months and the price of per unit of electricity will be Tk 13.96.

The Chapainawabganj plant will come into production in nine months and per unit will cost Tk 7.78.
