DHAKA: Dr Birupakkha Paul on Wednesday joined as new chief economist of the Bangladesh Bank.

He submitted his joining letter to the administrative division of the central bank of the country in the noon.

Dr Birupakkha Paul, an Associate Professor at State University of New York, has published several articles on inflation, economic development, free market economy and monitoring economy in several international journals.

He achieved his PhD from State University of New York in 2007.

He completed his graduation and post graduation from Dhaka University and post graduation from University of Technology in Syndey.
