DHAKA:  Investors witnessed gain in the benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday.

DSEX, the key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose over five points to stand at 4968 at the close on the last trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 77,836 with transaction at Tk 2942 million. Of the issues traded, 154 advanced, 106 declined and 48 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 147 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were IDLC, AGNISYSL, ALLTEX, RSRMSTEEL, DESCO, SQURPHARMA, GP, OLYMPIC and SAIFPOWER. 

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 9224 by gaining over 32 points. 

Out of the issues traded, 113 gained, 89 declined and 36 remained unchanged.
