DHAKA: A total of Tk 193.03-crore was collected from the income tax fair across the country on Saturday, the fourth day of weeklong event.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) public relations officer Syed A Mumen confirmed the matter to banglanews at night.

According to him, as many as 143,003 taxpayers received services from the fairground while 26,796 taxpayers submitted their respective tax return.

A total of Tk 1,096.71-crore was collected from the income tax fair across the country, including the capital city, in four days.

Syed A Mumen also said time of submitting the tax return was extended for three hours on Saturday as the day was weekly holiday.

Earlier on Wednesday, industries minister Amir Hossain Amu inaugurated the fair on Officers’ Club premises in city.

Last three days (Sept 20-22), however, will remain open following pre-scheduled time from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Earlier on September 15, national income tax day was marked with elaborate programs across the country.
