DHAKA: A total of Tk over 241-crore was collected from the income tax fair across the country on Sunday, the fifth day of the weeklong event.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) public relations officer (PRO) Syed A Mu’men confirmed the matter to banglanews at night.

According to him, as many as 108,000 taxpayers received services from the fairground while 20,988 taxpayers submitted their respective tax return.

The fair, which will be remain open from 10:0am to 5:00pm till September 22, has been organized in 51 districts.

Earlier on Wednesday, industries minister Amir Hossain Amu inaugurated the fair on Officers’ Club premises in city.

On September 15, national income tax day was marked with elaborate programs across the country to create mass awareness about the tax payment.
