DHAKA: A total of Tk 1,640.57-crore was collected from the income tax fair across the country on Monday, the sixth day of the weeklong event.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) public relations officer (PRO) Syed A Mu'men confirmed the matter to banglanews.

According to him, as many as 650,559 taxpayers received services from the fairground while 122,855 taxpayers submitted their respective tax returns.

The fair, which will be remain open from 10:00am to 5:00 pm till September 22, has been organized in seven division including Dhaka, 24 districts and 32 upazilas (20 mobile).

During the fair, a total of Tk 2,978.94-crore collected as income tax.

Earlier on Wednesday, industries minister Amir Hossain Amu inaugurated the fair on Officers’ Club premises in city.
