DHAKA: Siddiqur Rahman on Tuesday took the charge as Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president for the term of 2015-16.

Former BGMEA president Atiqul Islam handed over the charge to Sterling Denims Ltd managing director Siddiqur Rahman after announcing the 35-member committee in the 32nd general meeting of the apex body on country’s RMG sector.

Of the 35-member, seven were selected as vice-presidents of the organization.

A 158-page roadmap book with directives for the next two years was also handed over to the new committee.

However, the new president hoped that country’s readymade garments (RMG) sector will improve in the next two years.
