DHAKA: Over Tk 2,035 crores were collected from the weeklong income tax fair held across the country.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) public relations officer (PRO) Syed A Mu’men informed the media at Officers Club in city on Tuesday, the concluding day of the fair.

A total of Tk 2,035.32-cr was collected from the fairground. It is much higher than the past year as Tk 1,675-cr was collected in 2014, he added.

According to him, as many as 757,754 people have taken services from this year’s fair while 161,060 people submitted their return papers.

However, law minister Anisul Huq was present as chief guest at the fair concluding ceremony on the day. State minister for finance and planning MA Mannan and NBR chairman were present as special guests.
