DHAKA: Commerce Ministry Tuesday declared that the country earned $ 181.78 crore from the export sector last July, marking a robust growth at the outset of the new fiscal year.
The export earning is 26.49 percent higher compared to the turnover during the same period of last fiscal year, says a ministry source.
Sources said the export growth increased in most of the sectors in the first month of the current fiscal year, 2010-11.
The highest export income came from knitwear sector. It has earned $79.86 crore while oven garment sector earned $ 67.12 crore.
Their earnings were 22.55 percent and 28.62 percent more than that of the same time of the previous year.
Frozen-fish sector posted 36.48 percent growth, tea some 700 percent, leather sector 62.56 percent, raw jute 51.24 percent and home-textile sector 50.55 percent in July.
