DHAKA: A proposal from the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh waits for vetting by the Commerce Ministry for fair-price sale of goods under their own management round the year to keep prices of daily necessaries within the buying capacity of the people.
A source in the TCB said that the products would be sold through dealers countrywide over the year, as market prices marked unusual rises.
Many steps, including market monitoring, would be taken strictly by TCB after Ramadan under the proposed rationing.
Confirming the move, TCB director Mahfuzur Rahman Sarker said those who are actual businessmen would be treated as dealer for the trading operations.
“Those who became dealer for black-marketing and profiteering would be dropped in making a new list by canceling their license. Appointing new dealers will begin after eid,” he said.
