DHAKA: Banks will remain open in 36 districts on Saturday (February 20) so that aspirant candidates can deposit their money for nomination forms of upcoming Union Parishad (UP) elections.

Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular in this regard on Thursday (February 18).

The circular has also been sent to the chief executive officers (CEOs) of different banks. It suggests that as February 20 is a weekly holiday, those who will serve in the banks should be given proper remuneration.

However, polls in 739 UP areas are scheduled to be held on March 22 in the 36 districts.
