DHAKA: Banks will remain open on July 4 though Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her executive order declared the day as holiday.

Chairman of Association of Bankers (ABB) and also Mutual Trust Bank managing director (MD) and CEO Anis A Khan confirmed the matter to banglanews on Thursday (June 23).

However, the banks in RMG factory areas including Dhaka, Chittagong, Narayanganj, Savar and Gazipur will remain open from 9:00am to 3:00pm on July 2 and from 9:00am to 2:00pm on July 3.

The government employees will apparently enjoy a nine-day Eid holiday from July 1.
