DHAKA: The two bourses of the country -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed gain in share price indices on Sunday (August 14), the first trading session of the week.

DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gain over 2.72 points or 0.05 percent to stand at 4577.08 points at the end of day’s trading.

Trade deals stood at 95,324 with transaction at over Tk 3359.20 million. Of the issues traded, 123 advanced, 143 declined and 57 remained unchanged.

The Envoy Textiles Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 104.55 million having changed hands on the day.

Other toppers of the market were Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd, MJL Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, Bangladesh Steel Re-Rolling Mills Limited, Aman Feed Limited, KDS Accessories Limited, BSRM Steels Limited, Social Islami Bank Limited and Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, as CSCX, the prime index of the port city bourse, gain over 2.64 points to stand at 8564.73 points on the day.

Of the issues traded in the port city share market, 115 gained, 91 declined and 45 remained unchanged. The total value of exchange was over Tk 208.87 million.
