DHAKA: PRAN, the largest food processing company in Bangladesh, started guava pulping this year, said a press release.

Director of PRAN Eleash Mridha informed that PRAN would collect 2,000 tonnes guava in this season. PRAN collects guava from own contractual farmers and suppliers for ensuring quality.

Guava Juice-drink, mixed fruit Jam-Jelly is produced from the guava pulp. These products have huge demand in local and foreign market, he added.

Different types of fruits and crops are collected and processed from PRAN factory all the year long. A total of 5,000 workers have been employed in this factory, most of them are women.

Meanwhile, every year PRAN collected mango, rice, pulse, peanut, tomato, milk, spice etc from their 78 thousand contractual farmers.

PRAN products are available in 94 countries around the world, he added.
