DHAKA: Managers of two restaurants in the capital have been sentenced on charges of selling unhealthy food to public.
As part of an anti-food adulteration campaign, Executive Magistrate SM Shanto Noor Chowdhury of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Thursday (September 12) sentenced manager of popular restaurant Star Kabab's Dhanmondi branch for a five-day jail.
According to DSCC sources, the mobile court of DSCC also launched raid at Ghoroa Restaurant in Dhanmondi area of the capital and jailed its manager for two days for its dirty and unhealthy environment.
During the operation, the magistrate found burning oil and dying colors which is harmful to public health, dirty and unhealthy environment, and raw and cooked meat kept together in the refrigerator.
