DHAKA: Petrobangla authorities Wednesday said gas production at Bangura field would resume within two days, which would lessen a little the current fuel crunch.

“We hope to resume it either on Thursday night or on Friday morning,” chairman of the country’s Mineral Oil and Gas Corporation Dr. Hossain Mansoor told banglanews24.com.bd.

He also said, “We along with experts from Tullow are working day-night from last week to go for production at the gas field again.”

Manager (external affairs) of Tullow Bangladesh Limited Ataul Haque told banglanews24.com.bd that they replaced about 100-miter-long pipeline as it was damaged.

Earlier on June 7, the conjunction point between the gas-processing plant and the supply line cracked in a sudden explosion at the gas field.

The hydrocarbon mine used to generate 12-crore-cft gas daily before the explosion.
