The authorities of Dhaka University have expressed interest in conducting a new Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) test for the ‘GA’ unit admissions, following a High Court stay on the release of the exam results.
Lawyer Shishir Monir on Sunday (April 13) confirmed this matter.
The writ petition concerning the issue is scheduled to be heard before the High Court bench of Justice Rajik Al Jalil and Justice Tamanna Rahman Khalidi.
On February 8, the exam which was held, faced controversy after a candidate filed a petition with the university’s vice-chancellor, requesting a re-examination due to multiple errors in the question paper. When no action was taken, the candidate moved the High Court with a writ petition questioning the authorities’ inaction.
On February 20, the court also directed the authorities to resolve the issue before taking further action.
Following the hearing of the writ, on March 19, the High Court bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Shikdar Mahmudur Razir issued a stay order on the results.
