The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has announced its full panel for the upcoming Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) election.

JCD Central Committee General Secretary Nasir Uddin revealed the panel at a press conference on the university campus Thursday (Sep 18) afternoon.

Sajjad Hossain Hridoy, organising secretary of the CU unit, has been nominated as the candidate for vice president (VP). Shafayet Hossain, a student of the Sports Science Department, will contest for the position of general secretary (GS), while Ayubur Rahman Toufiq, a student of the Islamic History Department, will run for assistant general secretary (AGS).

At the press conference, Nasir alleged that the organisation has not received the “expected cooperation” from the CU administration regarding the CUCSU polls.

He further claimed that the administration has become “severely politicised” and is demonstrating a “biased attitude” towards a particular organisation.

Despite what he termed as “irregularities and biased behaviour” in the past Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) elections, Nasir said JCD remains committed to participating in all student union polls.
