State University Journalists’ Association announces executive committee SUJA elected executive committee members

The State University Journalists’ Association (SUJA) has announced its newly elected executive committee, with Md Kaiyum Hossain, a representative from Bangla Tribune, elected as president and Fardin Alam, of Nagorik TV (Canada), as general secretary.

A press release was issued in this regard.

The 11-member committee was officially declared on Sunday (July 27) at the Scholars’ Inn Seminar Room of State University by Vice Chancellor and SUJA’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Md Akhter Hossain Khan.

Special guests at the event included Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nowzia Yasmin and Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) President Mohiuddin Mujahid Mahi.

Others in attendance were State University Registrar Dr. Ahmed Hossain, Chairman of the Journalism, Communication and Media Studies Department Md Shamsul Islam, and Tito Rahman, CEO of Nagorik TV Canada.

The newly elected committee members are - Vice President: Taki Bin Mohsin (T Sports), Joint General Secretary: Mishu Ali Suhas (JCMS TV), Office Secretary: Farhana Akter Mim (Cholonbil Probaho), Treasurer: Md. Belayet Sheikh (Dainik Karatoa), Publicity and Publication Secretary: Mahmud Hasan Rafi (JCMS TV), Cultural Secretary: Oishi Goswami (ATN Bangla)

The executive members are Md. Bakhtiar Uddin Sani (JCMS TV), Afroza Akter Lamia (Jamuna Television), Faizul Kabir Joy (My TV).

SUJA serves as a platform for aspiring journalists from the State University of Bangladesh, who are actively working across national and international media outlets. 

The association is dedicated to developing journalistic skills, promoting ethical media practices, and providing meaningful opportunities for students to engage with the media.
