The deadline for collecting nomination papers for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections has been extended by one day, the Chief Returning Officer confirmed on Monday (August 18).

In an official notice issued by Professor Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, the Chief Returning Officer stated that the extension follows an enthusiastic response from students ahead of the 2025 DUCSU elections.

“We are pleased to observe the overwhelming enthusiasm and participation among students regarding the upcoming DUCSU elections,” the statement read. 

“It has also come to our attention that due to the large number of students crowding the halls and central offices to collect nomination papers, some were unable to do so within the originally allotted time,” it added.

In light of this, and to ensure equal and fair access to democratic participation for all, the nomination paper collection and submission deadlines have each been extended by one day. 

Nomination papers may now be collected until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 19 August, and submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 20 August.
