The Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities have announced that all academic classes and administrative offices will remain closed on September 14, citing the mental and physical exhaustion of teachers, students, and staff following the recently concluded JU Central Students' Union (JUCSU) elections.
A notification signed by JU Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman stated that the decision was taken in recognition of the relentless efforts of the university community during the election process, including preparations, voting, and vote counting held from September 10 to 13.
However, offices related to the undergraduate (honours) first-year admission process for the 2024-25 academic session will remain open on September 14 as scheduled. Teachers, officers, and staff engaged in the admission process have been directed to attend their respective duties.
Normal academic and administrative activities will resume on September 15. Meanwhile, all scheduled final examinations will remain suspended until further notice.
