DHAKA: Star Cineplex premiered one of the latest Hollywood movies ‘Pacific Rim’ at its hall in Basundhara City on Panthapath.

This science fiction monster movie had its Dhaka premiere Thursday evening.

Directed by Guillermo del Toro, and starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Rinko Kikuchi, ‘Pacific Rim’ is set in the 2020s, when the Earth is at wars with the Kaijus, colossal monsters which have emerged from an interdimensional portal on the floor of the Pacific Ocean, according to Wikipedia.

The movie will be screened at the Cineplex at 11.00am, 1.45pm, 4.3opm and 7.15pm from Friday onwards.

‘Pacific Rim’ earned a moderate success in the United States, but was highly successful in other territories, earning more than $407 million worldwide.

Cineplex’s Senior Manager (Media, Marketing Division) Mesbah Uddin Ahmed told banglanews24.com that they hoped the movie would get a good response from the moviegoers in the city.
