People of all walks of life are paying their last respects to film actor and Member of Parliament Akbar Hossain Pathan (Farooque), whose body was taken to Central Shaheed Minar this morning.

A refrigerated van carrying his body was taken to the premises of Shaheed Minar where it will be kept till 1pm for people from all strata to pay their last tribute.

After that, the body will be taken to Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and his first namaz-e-janaza will be held there after Zuhr prayer.

Around 3:30 pm, the body will be taken to Channel i from BFDC, and finally it will be taken to Gazipur’s Kaliganj where Farooque will be buried after another janaza at Gulshan Azad Mosque in Dhaka at 5 pm.

The legendary actor breathed his last at around 10am on Monday while undergoing treatment at Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

Later, a special US-Bangla flight carrying the body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 7:50 am on Tuesday.
