DHAKA: The 10th council of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Goshthi’s Dhaka city unit is going to be organized in the city from Friday.

The two-day council will start at 10:00am on the day at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Central Public Library in city, the organization’s Dhaka city unit general secretary Amit Ranjan De told media at its Central Office on Topkhana Road on Wednesday.

In his written speech, Amit Ranjan said that the wounded workers from Rana Plaza and Tazreen Garments tragedies will inaugurate the council.

Eminent Language Movement activist Ahmed Rafiq, artist Rafiqun Nabi, journalist Siddique Ahmed, Udichi central committee president Kamal Lohani and its general secretary Prabir Sardar will be present as special guests.

The inaugural ceremony will be held at 10:00am on Friday.

The inaugural program will include colorful rally, discussion and council meeting.

The organizers will arrange cultural program featuring music, dance, recitation and film screening in the evening on the day.

The council meeting will continue till 2:00pm on Saturday, Amit Ranjan said at the press conference attended by Udichi’s Kazi Mohammad Shish, Siddiqur Ahmed, Jamshed Anwar Tapan, AN Rasheda and Sangeeta Imam, among others.
